The whole world has gone on complete lockdown. Everything seems to have turned upside down, and the life we grew used to living has had to change to adapt. One thing we can all agree upon is that YouTube has become a platform for everything during this pandemic. Doctors are using YouTube to spread awareness, news channels are reporting and keeping the world updated on the status of things, artists are taking to #STAYATHOME concerts, and influencers are trying to mobilize support for various organizations that are on the frontlines fighting this pandemic.

Whatever be the reason, user interaction on YouTube has skyrocketed in the last couple of months. This makes sense given that almost the entire world has nothing much to do other than attend Zoom calls and watch YouTube. As a content creator, this is a chance to make the best out of the situation. Here we will dive into how exactly you can promote your YouTube views during this lockdown:

    1. Promote on social media

Word of mouth is a thing of the past. Yes, it might still bring in a couple of hundreds of people to your channel but if you plan on going big, social media is where you need to be. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Telegram have proved to bring in huge traction to YouTube channels, both big and small. These platforms help build a relationship between the user and the creator and give rise to more consistent views in the long run. Social media is also the reason why many videos on YouTube end up going viral. Viral videos mean staggering views and that’s what we all want at the end of the day.

    2. Make use of Ads

Ads have been the go-to method for driving traction since time immemorial. Needless to say, this might not be the most effective currently. Ads require time and time is of the essence in situations such as these. Considering its amazing track record, we felt it apt that this is given its due respect. Ads can significantly help rake in views and subscribers. Most often, good content goes unnoticed purely because it gets pushed back by the YouTube algorithm. Ads help combat this.

    3. Buy organic growth

Most non-essential services have been put on hold and running traditional Google Ads may not be the most effective in terms of promoting your YouTube views at the moment. Google Ads approval has slowed down considerably during this lockdown. All the major players are busy, leaving content creators looking to run ads in a tight spot. This is where 3rd party sites that provide organic growth come into the picture. Trusted sites like SocioBlend offer tremendous organic growth at really competitive prices. With all the positive reviews, Socioblend might very well be your best shot to increase YouTube views during such difficult times. Once the numbers start rolling in, the rest will snowball into a situation in your favor, guaranteed.

    4. Focus on content

At the end of the day, the quality of content is what will drive your channel and bring in the numbers. To condense it into a simple statement, “You need to consistently deliver quality content in a particular niche”. How specific the niche is, depends entirely on you. Pushing out videos for the sake of it might help you stay “consistent” but this could backfire in the long run. YouTube has become a very competitive platform and staying at the top requires research, which in turn requires time and effort. If you can put these into each of the videos you put out, your videos will promote themselves (with a little bit of help such as the 3rd point) and start to bring in large numbers of views.

    5. Focus on SEO

Another important point regarding promoting your YouTube views during lockdown would be by focusing time on SEO. The chances of your video getting discovered are slimming with every passing minute. With every minute that passes, you are competing with an additional 300 hours’ worth of content. Given, that majority of this will go unnoticed, that is still a huge uphill battle. The reason YouTubers find themselves getting millions of views is because of a few reasons:

    • Either they have a loyal fan base that watches every video they put out. If a channel has a million subscribers and at least 70% watch every video that gets put out, this amounts to 700K views for every video WITHOUT promotion.
    • In other cases, channels begin a trend of putting out viral videos. Viral videos are the favorite type of videos for the YouTube algorithm. In such cases, the algorithm behaves similarly to a paid promotion where the sole aim is to push your video into as many users as possible.
    • And finally, videos sometimes find a way to beat the algorithm. By using good SEO techniques, channels with fewer subscribers can still rake in hundreds of thousands of views on a regular basis. Uploading transcripts in other languages, video descriptions for every video, good titles and interesting thumbnails all go a long way in raking in views.
